Panettone Cake Recipe

Panettone is a classic Italian cake recipe with yeast and raisins. This recipe is both rich in ingredients, high in nutritional value and rich in calories.

This special cake, in which eggs and butter are used abundantly, offers you rich alternatives in terms of the “etymological” origins of its name.

Panettone Cake Recipe

Panettone Cake Materials:

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 5 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of hot water
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup of dried fruit mix (orange-weighted mixed fruit diced into cubes)
  • 1/2 cup of warm water
  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey
  • Grated rind of 1/2 medium lemon
  • a pinch of salt

For the above:

  • 1 tablespoon of cold butter

Add orange juice and hot water to the raisins and leave for 5 minutes.

Mix the flour, yeast, granulated sugar, grated lemon peel and salt in a bowl.

Mix the liquid ingredients in a separate bowl and add little by little to the container with the dry mix. Add 4 tablespoons of butter little by little.

Strain the juice of the raisins, mix with the dried fruit mixture and 1 tablespoon of butter and add to the mixture with the help of a wooden spoon. Take the dough into a deep bowl and leave it for about 12 hours.

Gently knead the dough, which has increased to approximately 3 times, with small movements. Place in a suitable sized container and ferment for another 2 hours. Draw a plus on the dough and place the cold butter in the middle.

Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 75 minutes.
