How to Pack for Items Transported or Unused

How to Pack

Unused items are always crowded at home or you may need to move to another home, you may need to remove excess. In such cases, packaging is always very important. The right packaging saves both time and money.

– Categorize your items. Keep your daily used items together.

– Make a detailed list of products going to the warehouse to find out which products are sent to the warehouse.

– Add the list of the goods you prepared while making the insurance claim to the insurance policy.

-Use clean and sturdy packages, plastic containers, high-quality bubble wrap, furniture cover, and descriptive labels. Do not use packaging materials and garbage bags that appear rotten or tear immediately.

– Make sure that the items you will pack for storage are clean and dry.

- Heavy items are placed under the parcel, light items are placed on the upper part of the parcel.

- Put heavy items in small parcels.

- When packing your utensils, wrap them one by one and fill all the gaps with wrapping paper when placing them in the box. Use a generous amount of wrapping paper. In addition to wrapping paper, you can also use bubble wrap or a mattress.

- Half-full parcels threaten the security of your other belongings as they will collapse during stacking. Take care to fill the parcels. If there are no more items, fill the final package with packing materials.

- Tightly tape the parcels against dust, dirt and pests. Avoid getting dust inside.

– Place the items that may be affected by moisture in plastic boxes.

– Label each parcel and item carefully. Take explanatory notes for labels such as “FRAGILE” and “CARRY WITH CARE” and the contents.

– Pack each piece of furniture that can be disassembled separately. Do not send the furniture for storage without disassembly.

– While preparing your leather furniture for storage, prepare your furniture for long-lasting storage with leather cream before packaging.

- Pack the electronic items using their original boxes. If you have not kept the boxes, wrap them well in a similar way and wrap them with cardboard again.

- The freezer and refrigerator must be thoroughly cleaned and completely dry before being placed in the storage. Your refrigerator will still smell slightly unpleasant if you open the lid after storage. You can use it again after cleaning it thoroughly.

- Put mothballs for insects on your clothes.
