How to do manicure at home?
Step 1: Time to remove the old nail polish!
Before you start a manicure at home, you should get rid of the old nail polish on your nails. You can choose acetones with moisturizing and nourishing properties both to remove nail polish and to care for your nails at the same time.
We have to recommend our favorite acetone to you: Parmex Acetone, with its moisturizing and nourishing ingredients in its formula, prevents the drying effect of acetone on the nails. Thus, the nails are moisturized, nourished and nail breakage is prevented.
Step 2: Shape your nails
For manicure making, you will first need a rasp. You can start your manicure by shaping your nails with a glass file. You should also pay attention to your nail structure by shaping your nails with a rasp. We recommend you to browse the manicure styles according to the nail shape.
Square nails: Don’t stretch your nails too long, medium length is ideal for you. You should file your nails bluntly.
Oval nail: If you want to do an oval manicure, you should file the nail tips round. French manicure suits oval nails very well!
Almond nails: If the structure of your nails is long, you can keep up with the 2021 manicure trends by filing them in almond shape.
Short nails: Short nail manicure is one of the most difficult manicure styles. You can make your nails look longer by pushing the flesh of your short nails back a little. You should usually apply light colored nail polishes.
If you don’t have a glass file, you can also use sponge files. The colorful and sponge-shaped files you see in beauty markets are very useful. These 4-stage, rectangular files help you file nail edges, remove roughness, smooth the top of your nail, and polish and polish your nail.
File the surface of your nails with the soft surface of the 3-sided sponge nail file and polish your nails with the polisher side. These steps will help your nails look brighter and smoother at the same time.
If you are constantly applying nail polish to your nails, it is very normal to see peeling or a yellow discoloration on your nail. Thanks to the sponge file, you can get rid of these peelings on your nails and have more flawless looking nails. Be careful, if you don’t have a sponge file, you shouldn’t do this step with a metal file.
Step 3: Remove cuticles
To get rid of the dead skin around your nails, namely the cuticles, you should first prepare a manicure water. It is very easy to prepare manicure water at home: Put a small amount of liquid hand soap in a warm water, insert your fingers and wait until your cuticles are soft.
If you don’t have time to prepare manicure water at home, you can do a manicure after taking a shower while your cuticles are still soft.
After your cuticles have softened, dry your hands and push the cuticles back with wooden cuticle sticks. If you don’t have these wooden sticks, you can also use the pointed part of the rasp. You should be careful that the file you use here is not too sharp and be gentle.
At this point, you will have two options: You can either just push the cuticles and apply a conditioning oil on them, or you can cut the cuticles with a manicure pliers. Cutting the cuticles with pliers will become a constant need. Just pushing can be a practical application for you, the choice is entirely up to you!
If you make it a habit to push your cuticles back, you won’t have too many cuticle problems. Cutting the cuticles constantly will cause these cuticles to grow. If you are new to manicure, we recommend pushing the cuticles back instead of cutting them. You will thank us very much in the future.
If the cuticles sticking in your eye are too much, you can cut them with cuticle scissors. At this stage, you should pay attention to the fact that the scissors you use are clean. You shouldn’t cut too deeply, just cut off the excess meat.
One of the best parts of doing nail care at home is that it is hygienic. You may not find the comfort of using your own manicure scissors at the hairdresser. Don’t give up on hygiene, though, and clean your scissors after every manicure.
We recommend that you have cuticle scissors, metal file, sponge file and a soft famous stick that will push back the cuticle in your home manicure kit.
Step 4: Apply some nail polish
After you finish your manicure, you can soften your hands with hand cream. After the cream is absorbed, you should apply a nourishing and strengthening nail polish base to your nails. The nail base not only keeps the nail polish for a long time, but also creates a protective barrier between the nail polish and the nail. Even if you do not apply nail polish, you can make your nails look brighter by using nourishing base nail polishes. Our favorite nail polish base is Maybelline Super Stay Strength Primer. We do not neglect to apply this nail polish base that protects and strengthens the nail.
We seem to hear you ask how often should a manicure be done. We recommend a manicure every two weeks to achieve flawless-looking hands. It wouldn’t be too much for you to dedicate an hour to your hands on two Sundays a month, right?
Step 5: Apply nail polish
Now it’s time to decorate and color nails! You can choose white and nude nail polish colors on your nails on a daily basis. Red and burgundy nail polishes also give an extremely feminine and attractive effect. Our preference is for burgundy nail polishes! The color we use most often is 287 Midnight Red from Maybelline Super Stay nail polishes. You should definitely try this burgundy tone that suits all skin tones. Moreover, this nail polish, which is permanent for up to 7 days, will stay flawlessly on your nails for a week.
If you are going to an invitation, we strongly recommend the romantic make-up and French nail polish duo. ‘How to make french nail polish?’ Let’s take you to this article for the answer to the question.
Step 6: Apply top coat
We came to the last step of the manicure at home: Applying a top coat! The top coat that you will apply after applying the nail polish will make your nail polish dry faster, look brighter and be more permanent.
Our favorite top coat nail polish is Maybelline Super Stay Flash Dry Top Coat. This transparent nail polish, which allows the nail polish to dry in a very short time, also makes the nail polish brighter. It not only increases the permanence of nail polish, but also prevents pillow marks!
